I have reached what I'm calling the "seven of nine" point of my blanket (which I am massively (annoyingly?) entertained by).

Two more large squares (aka eight small ones) before I have to decide on a layout and border.

I am having a grumpy old day, but at least I've made an ugly crochet Christmas ornament! 🧶

It's two starburst baubles from Janie Crow's Twinkle Bunting pattern sewn together.

One of the craft groups I go to is making a granny square Christmas tree for the tree festival at the local church. This afternoon a couple of us made a start on trying to work out how it'll all go together.

A crochet Christmas tree under construction - strips of multicoloured granny squares are being used to cover a conical framework. It is very much a work in progress, and there are some gaps at the bottom while some squares trail onto the floor.

I was feeling all proud of myself for getting my temperature blanket back up to date, only to realise that I'd messed up and accidentally repeated three days at the beginning of September.

It'll just have to stay like that, as there's no way I'm redoing over two months of work... 🧶

I don't yet have a knitting photo for this week's #ShowMeYourKnits prompt of indie dyed yarn/indie designers, but this is the ridiculousness of my yarn cupboard. Almost all of this is from indie dyers (mostly Posh Yarn) and all heavy lace weight or finer.

A dark wood cabinet has its doors open to reveal many skeins of brightly coloured hand dyed yarn. Many of them have the tags hanging down at the front for ease of identification.

After the second to last round of my mosaic crochet square, I can cut the contrast colour yarn and just continue with the main yarn. Guess which one I just cut?

Ah well, I can cope with a couple extra ends to sew in, I guess... 🧶

Day 2 of working on this tangled skein of cobweb weight merino yarn, and I'm finally starting to make some progress.

They're replacing a transformer (not the robot in disguise kind) just down the road from me, so I've taken my crochet off to a local cafe where they still have electric.

I've left the cat with plenty of food and water, plus a hot water bottle to keep him toasty...

I'm up to date with my crochet temperature blanket for once! It's getting pretty big - at 65 inches it's longer than I am tall.

And it looks like the blanket passed Hector's inspection.
