I waited in the middle of the crosswalk for them to almost make it to the other side hoping the waiting cars would at least see me the bigger of the two of us at 5’2”. It must be so scary for slower individuals.

It is striking to see how people in the same place have such wildly divergent understandings of reality (or what they understand as reality)... maybe it has ever been thus, but it seems increasingly polarized

Yep that’s me.

There was me and someone else on panel 2 as well talking bike safety. I hope it became a theme.

Panel 2. I will be across the street so I just need a heads up when panel 1 is called I think.

The issue is speed and mass.

We have accepted vehicles that are too large and accepted speeds that are too fast to be safe when operating near points of interaction with people walking.

What fatality risk do you accept? Find it on graph and you’ll see the corresponding speed.

I signed up to speak but will need help managing my time on the 24th. Anyone who is going to be there and can give me a 20 min heads up I would be so very greatful.

I’m holding out hope that they have a plan maybe I am being naive but they got to know these communities will rally if the put us in danger.

Just dreaming but imagine this to keep cars slow with bike lanes on the edges. Maybe some day…

I think we all support making 10th street a safe gateway in to not only Kensington but also the DT core and I think we all agree ensuring cars and cyclists are separated is important. I want the city to come up with some options with these goals in mind.

I think the bigger question with all of this is what about the pedestrian crossing we were promised between Riley Patk and #undertherainbow? That is a missing link that is way over due and should be the focus of everyone’s attention.

Also I am not sure there is enough space for a round about with proper protected bike lanes but I am open to hearing from progressive traffic engineers.
