Thanks for the kind thoughts. Here’s the fnal
News report on the accident. My niece was in the front passenger seat of the vehicle on the roadside. She had surgery again yesterday and a blood transfusion. She still in the ICU, but the docs are expecting to move her next week to the med/surg ward.

So I have an update of sorts. My niece spent a good part of last night in surgery and she’s going back into the OR in about a half hour. Fortunately she’s young (25), but has extensive injuries. The situation is not good.

Desert Storm veteran here with the Big Red One. I’ll never forget passing the 1st UK Armoured Div thru our lines on G-Day when we were all pivoting eastward to orient on Norfolk.

What a tragic story. I know that US Navy battleships had several catastrophic explosions in powder magazines over the years. USS Iowa had one at late as 1989 that killed an entire turret crew.

Do you happen to know how this artifact came into the museum’s collection? It must’ve meant a great deal to the family at some point in the past. Thanks for sharing this image.

I still remember the first time I heard “London Calling” in 79. It blew my mind.

From looking at this tablet, there must be at least two more on the station walls. Thanks for posting this.

Thanks much for sharing these images. World War I art is a fascinating topic. The variety of styles by official artists, to me, is such a powerful statement. There’s everything from near-abstract art to social realism.

I’m confused with the title. Is it Shellstorm, or Shellshock?
