most people think the proper way to watch skinamarink is to simply watch it.

no.

the proper way to watch skinamarink is with me next to you in your peripheral vision, intently staring at you to make sure you're paying attention, and then afterwards you listen to me explain why it was good.

Gamers: I hate micro transactions, they shouldn't exist.

Also gamers: every single game should get regular updates and new content for years after release, without me having to pay for it.

Personally I don't like the predatory microtransactions, but I think extra money for extra content is fine.

I was hoping to have skitter mode done by monday, but I'll settle for getting the spindle animated during scanmode and collectmode.

They had something like this for the PS1 console too. I wanting one so badly because most of my family didn’t want to watch me play Final Fantasy for hours while their favorite shows played.

I've gotten more than a couple emails asking me about this little contraption. And I have to admit that my curiosity was piqued when I first saw a picture of it. I review third-party controllers all t...

"No TV? No Problem!"

Clip-on screens for consoles in the early 2000s were certainly a thing - as were built-into-controllers with HIP Screen: PS2, Xbox, and GameCube pads with a 2.6" back-lit TFT screen rising above them.

To my surprise, these actually reviewed quite well.

Often times on older TV, you shoot on film for the effect or because film cameras were still better at capturing certain kinds of light.

But ... since no one's gonna see the whole frame, you frame your shots for 4:3. IIRC they even have guides for the cameras for this.

Was reminding myself of the tortured production of poor ol' Firefly, how Joss Whedon had to deliberately place actors and key items at the edges of scenes to stop Fox from just cutting and broadcasting it in 4:3 anyway.

Watching Firefly with Kit over dinner (her first time through), and whoops; been a while since I've seen a camera op caught in shot like this. Never noticed it before in previous rewatches.

Usually one of those things explained by it'd be cut for 4:3 broadcast, but Firefly was shot in widescreen.
