Not a big Katie Porter fan or anything but it's not her fault that top two is such a stupid system. The party could institute #rcv but it will probably take this kind of worst case catastrophe to get their attention.

Can someone who know what they're talking about explain the timing of the LaMalfa special election? The Bee/Paul Mitchell say June special and possible runoff in November. But Election Code 10703/10704 read to me like the DECIDING election has to be in June, with a primary before that (April). ?
