33 years ago, the McDonald's Holiday Happy Meal promotion featured Cabbage Patch Kids and Tonka. During the first three weeks, each toy also came with a Hasbro coupon book with $50 of combined savings. (1992)

If you want to really have your present stand out under the tree this year, may I suggest tracking down some 1979 McDonaldland Gift Wrap?

In the late 80s, McDonald's came through with some interesting holiday menu items. The lineup in 1988 was particularly stacked - peppermint sundaes, egg nog shakes and even holiday orange McNugget dipping sauce!

It's cool that McDonald's brought back the Holiday Pie, but I think it's time for them to break out the EGG NOG SHAKE! (1969)

If you purchased $5 of McDonald's gift cards in 1985, they'd give you a plush reindeer ornament from Santa Claus The Movie. I bet a lot of folks grew up with this on their Christmas tree and had no idea where it came from.

During the A BUG'S LIFE movie promotion, McDonald's served Chicken McNuggets with APPLE-CINNAMON DIPPING SAUCE. Totally unique and a nice throwback to their original Holiday sauce offerings. (1998)

For years, McDonald's would run a "Holiday Film Fest" with cheap vhs tapes... the 1994 batch featured Field of Dreams, Land Before Time, Back to the Future & Fievel Goes West. If you grew up with all of these tapes, I bet this was why.

Found these two 70s McDonald’s Tiffany-style lamps last week - new old stock, still in the original boxes! The spoils of life on the road!

A McDonald's Commander's Cap for $2.95 might be the best value for any product ever made.

Another great McDonald's collectibles trip haul in the books! 170 translite signs, vintage clothes, Richard McDonald autographs, rare toys, the first Ronald wall plaque (not creepy at all), THREE 70s hand-painted murals and so much more! What's your favorite this time around?

When McDonald’s launched the Muppet Babies Christmas plush promotion, they ordered a supply of 40 MILLION DOLLS… which, according to some internal documents, was the largest single order of plush toys ever placed. (1988)

Modern landscapers have really lost their touch - I haven't seen a single "garden burger" in ages (1981)

In 1993, McDonald’s Australia offered a Mac Tonight Happy Meal… three full years after he disappeared from ads in the US. That mask has to be one of the “best worst” toys ever made.

McDonald’s Australia was absolutely out of their minds in the 90s… Passionfruit Sundaes and the KAHUNA BURGER with round bacon and a slice of pineapple!

While McDonald's in the US only got four Muppet Babies Happy Meal toys, Canada got five, thanks to the addition of Animal. No clue why it worked out like that, but the Animal figure is an important one for Happy Meal set completionists like me. (1987)

In the Summer of 1994 (A.D.), McDonald's briefly converted into ROC DONALD'S to celebrate the Flintstones movie. One of the most enduring parts of the promotion is this t-shirt featuring an "over 19 dozen sold" sign.
