People who suggest we should all "just grow our own food" tend to be people who haven't tried to actually grow their own food. You don't just, like, throw some seeds on the ground and BOOM! food! The last 10 years of hobby gardening made me realize just how amazing it is that we survived
This is a hard, hard truth. One answer I see (and think about some) is growing food, community gardens, etc. But yanno, that's a huge amount of work for people who are scrambling just to survive. Big Ag and the huge "food" corps have a LOT to answer for. Wrongness grows in those fields.
People say eat healthy food and you'll feel better. Shit. The healthy food is expensive AF now even more than it ever been. We eat processed junk food because that's all we can afford. You all know poverty has killed poor people?
