My mother has a set of those dishes from her mother. Very similar to the ones in this post:
When we go full relish tray it looks like this. We do it once in a while in Grandma’s honor but we are more likely to add cheeses, fruits and crackers to make it more charcuteriesque.

Over in Cliare's holiday disasters thread from yesterday, someone posted a photo of an elaborate relish tray including crystal dishes that look very much like the ones my mother has (which she inherited from *her* mother, who did marvelous relish trays.)

and two kinds of dip, usually French Onion dip (Lipton's onion soup mix & sour cream) and ranch dressing. Potato chips were often on the table, but not considered part of the relish tray. It was de rigeur for those who ate the olives (I did not) to stick them on their fingers first.

Grandma had these lovely crystal dishes in which the assorted vegetables and dips were laid out, my mother now has them (and my sister will probably get them eventually as she actually entertains.) Usual contents were carrots, celery, scallions, black olives, pickle spears and/or sweet gherkins,

My mom's family always had relish trays at holidays and when they started having joint holiday meals with my dad's family (which was a relief, as my maternal grandmother was not a great cook, but she did a mean relish tray) the tradition caught on. San Francisco Bay Area, 1970s-80s.

(The fact that Charo was at least 20 years younger than the Del Rubio sisters may have factored into this decision. I say "at least" because Charo has offered a variety of birth dates over the years, ranging from 1941 to 1951.)

I wonder if the Del Rubio triplets and Charo were ever on set at the same time. There was some beef between them.
(The Del Rubio triplets sang with Xavier Cugat's band for 20 years, from the '40s to the '60s, but he fired them after he married Charo as she became the solo singer.)

They're not quite that old (well, the younger ones aren't, I think a couple of the ones who played high schoolers in the first season may have hit 30 now)

The squirrels are SO FAT this fall. They will feed many baby raptors in the spring.

Of my maternal great-grandparents, two were from Boston (well, one was born in California but was conceived in Boston), one from Scotland, and one from Georgia. Did have ancestors on the Mayflower but they were Strangers, not Saints. (One of them spent several stints in the stocks for selling booze

The first name is pronounced Ivana, and the surname is closer to Hurin. Assuming they’re using proper Polish pronunciation, and given that her father’s name is Kazimierz, I suspect they are.

She’s from Brazil, she hasn’t been deported yet, she’s at the awful ICE detention center in Louisiana.

He's a second-generation high school football coach in Virginia with a winning record. He probably drives an Escalade or some other ostentatious truck.

It’s pronounced “Ivana”. I’m pretty sure the pronunciation of the surname is also not what people are thinking.
