I'm C. M. Lockhart and I write books about Black girls who aren't all that nice.

In case folks aren't clear, the book is a work of fiction. People--industry people, published writers and editors and agents--are legitimately accusing an author of animal abuse because a fictional dog fictionally dies in her fictional book of fiction.
