This is one of monumental entrances to the Iron Age oppidum near Huelgoat in Brittany that is known as the Camp d'Artus, the 'Camp of Arthur'. The defences make use of natural rock formations, but also consisted of a man-made ramparts. #HillfortsWednesday

Two 10th century hogback tombs - Part of the wonderful collection of early medieval sculpture at Govan Old Parish Church in Glasgow. Hogbacks are generally considered as grave markers or stylised 'houses' for the dead. 📸 My own. #TombTuesday #TheGovanStones #GovanHeritageTrust

A doorway to, or from, the Iron Age…?
Looking out from the doorway of Carn Liath broch to the world beyond, I guess the view, stone, sea and sky, hasn’t changed too much in 2000 years.
Enchanting, and chilling, sometimes to glance through ancient eyes.

There's now just one of these left in my shop, so if you've been thinking about it, you might be wise to get it while you can as I'm not sure when I'm going to find time to print more!

I enjoyed a visit to the small, but interesting, Norris Museum in St. Ives, Cambridgeshire, at the weekend. A few items caught my eye, but particularly this very beautiful and poignant medieval brooch and these fabulous Roman faces 😀

Does anyone know where this is? It looks like London to me...
And the good news is it is not completely a 'monde oublié' ('lost world')- I have just been in to my local herbalist, the marvellous Baldwins on Walworth Road!

Hello folks. I've been making plaster of paris artefacts/decorations for friends.

I'm opening it up here now - all items incl. postage (UK only, sadly) & gift packaging. I can send things within a week, usually faster.

Anyway, if there's anything you fancy, message/email me! 😊
