My 13 ticks 😂 What's the lowest temperature you would trap?

What a wonderful set of moths! I would love to get Goat Moth in the trap. I've seen the caterpillar along the canal and that was very impressive!

Beautiful! on my most wanted list 🤔

No, I only ever saw the Bee Hawks there that one time, although I saw one along the Basingstoke Canal (way out of range) in 2020 and one at Powerstock Common a couple of years ago. Wood Tiger I've seen at Martin Down on three separate occasions.

It is an amazing place. If you ever get down that way in the springtime, make sure you visit

Two lovely species there 😍

The Bee Hawks were very special and one of my favourite moments in nature 😊

Thanks! the Narrow-bordered Bee Hawk-moths were pure fluke. I was at Martin Down looking for butterflies with my mum when I saw a bulky insect flying along. I had no idea what it was, so I pursued it along the path until it dropped like a stone onto the waiting female.

I don't know if any other moth-ers have got started like that, seeing large attractive moths whilst looking for butterflies/orchids and realising that not all moths are small and brown 🤔

I'll pop it in the post 🤣

Thanks! I have some shots taken with my phone rather than the camera. I'm glad the wing shape looks right. I didn't expect a tick this late in the year.........
