That's only the second Privet we've ever had. Hummers seemed to do well this year, although I didn't see one 😕. Here's one from a few years ago, sadly not in the garden......

Four species of Hawk-moth were recorded in the garden this year. Elephant Hawk-moths have only started turning up in the last couple of years since we planted the Jasmine #teammoth

12 years ago today I saw this beautiful Hawk Owl in The Netherlands. Also seen that day were Two-barred Warbler, White-tailed Eagle, Short-toed Treecreeper, White Stork and lots of Smew #birding

Thanks! I have some shots taken with my phone rather than the camera. I'm glad the wing shape looks right. I didn't expect a tick this late in the year.........

This is the moth that I wrote down as Chestnut after viewing it in artificial light last night. It looks different in natural light. Obs says it is Dark Chestnut? If it is, it would be a tick #teammoth

I got 44 macro moth ticks this year. This list was my most wanted list at the beginning of the year and the only two I got from the list I had already seen elsewhere 😄. The wanted list will be rolled over to next year #teammoth
