12 years ago today I saw this beautiful Hawk Owl in The Netherlands. Also seen that day were Two-barred Warbler, White-tailed Eagle, Short-toed Treecreeper, White Stork and lots of Smew #birding

Blast from the past: Moths seen years before I was a moth-er. Narrow-bordered Bee Hawk-moth & Wood Tiger at Martin Down, Cream-spot Tiger at Hurst Spit, Magpie at Shipton Bellinger and Clouded Buff at Yateley Common #teammoth
This is the moth that I wrote down as Chestnut after viewing it in artificial light last night. It looks different in natural light. Obs says it is Dark Chestnut? If it is, it would be a tick #teammoth

I got 44 macro moth ticks this year. This list was my most wanted list at the beginning of the year and the only two I got from the list I had already seen elsewhere 😄. The wanted list will be rolled over to next year #teammoth

I'm assuming it was the 8°c temps that killed the kit off last night. The old battery which has recently been lasting 5 hours didn't even last 4 hours in the evening and the brand new battery didn't even last 6.5 hours overnight. Just one Silver-y sitting in the dark trap #teammoth
