@fromtga.bsky.social is right: FPTP could allow any kind of dangerous populist to take power on a minority of the vote, or by taking over the ruling party.

PR would help safeguard our democracy.

Amazon has been delivering rural for only 5 years so where did people buy before?
Amazon undercuts competitors to force them out, so the convenience has cost the loss of local stores, less choices and market competition.
People don’t realize that the elderly, disabled, and rural people need Amazon to obtain a lot of the goods they need. It’s well and good to want to boycott billionaires, but many of us don’t have that option when it comes to Amazon.

Good luck with your book sales.

The U.S. political collapse has crushed my faith that despite the world’s horrors, at least humanity has been on a slow trajectory toward equity and justice.

It’s really shocked and demoralized me how easily and quickly a society can regress.
No matter how long I live after we get through this dark chapter, I will never get over the immorality, the amorality, the corruption, the criminality and the cruelty in service to one of the worst humans to ever walk the earth.

I don't think we're going to have a successful Amazon boycott till we break their monopoly on indie books.

They have a clever strategy to build their monopoly, which any functional government would have banned: if you want your indie book listed in Kindle Unlimited, you have to be exclusive. 🧵
