I just came out of the briefing with Sec. Rubio and Sec. Hegseth on the military strikes in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific. Here's what I learned.

Bottom line: there is no legal or national security justification for what they're doing. Not even close.

There’s a specific mechanism in authoritarian movements that we’re seeing play out in real-time across American media and tech. It’s a simple rule: "If we cannot co-opt it, we must destroy it."

It is the logic of "scorched earth." It's the logic of the Nero Decree and it's happening right now. 🧵

I was hoping this wasn’t true when I heard it two hours ago….

But now People Magazine has confirmed with multiple sources that Nick Reiner, Rob and Michele’s son, is the suspect in their murder.

As Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis stated in 1933; “We can have democracy in this country or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of the few, but we cannot have both.”

Today, at a time of unprecedented income & wealth inequality, his words ring truer than ever.

I really hope this isn’t what it appears to be. Gut-wrenching.

I met Rob Reiner last year on a Democrats Abroad call and in addition to being an all-around hero, he is just so nice.

Prayers up.

Important to also know that Trump was threatening to withhold all federal funding from Indiana if Republicans voted NO on this.
Indiana’s Senate has voted AGAINST the GOP gerrymander that’d have locked in a 9-0 map.

This keeps the 7-2 map in place, saving two Democratic seats heading into 2026.

The vote failed big, 19/31.

The MAJORITY of the GOP senators opposed it!
