Managed to update and old laptop from windows 10 even though it doesn't meet 11 spec. Pretty happy especially as it seems to be running fine and it's saved me replacing it. It's not my daily driver but does sit behind my tv and connects to various things. Really i should switch to something smaller

Oh this one stings. I had a similar reaction seeing him at beatherder around a decade later when he was still unreal on stage. And let's not forget he was still releasing absolutely bangers as well. Refugees and especially Rebirth are simply brilliant
Oh shit RIP the GOAT. Only time I have ever cried hot salt tears at a live show was THIS at Cambridge Folk Festival c. 2004 (from 6m6s here). Absolutely mind blowing show through and through, he was fitter at 60-odd than most performers a third his age, and his voice - fucking HELL.

Incredibly the DWP can't cope with one parent doing an application for DLA. Then the other parent doing the reapplication 5 years later. They're holding up processing the claim because I made it.

Related. My grandma when writing was a secretary at a legal firm. Her typing on a typewriter was fucking insane speeds. I'll have to get her to remind me what it was but it's significantly faster than me and with a crazy low error count
Last shared post. Strongly agree about teaching touch typing. I'm trying to encourage it with my boys with the various games. Unfortunately I'm a shit teacher generally and I'm also self taught touch typist which means I've got myriad bad habits.

oh come on. We use modern tools; we teach kids to use modern tools. Nobody uses a mangle any more; we have washing machines. Similarly there's no need to laboriously handwrite stuff when we have keyboards. My only thing is that I hope kids learn to touch-type, because that's such a vital skill now.
Call me Luddite but it's mental that some American school districts have moved absolutely everything onto screens??
