I'm about to watch Die Hard for the first time.

I plan to have zero opinions as to whether it is a Christmas film once I have finished

I thought I would try using co-pilot in Word to create a gift voucher to printout (for one you buy online and it's just an email). It worked but it generated a jpeg rather than a Word doc, which seems rather damning of Word's capabilities.

Today would have been a UK record breaker for UK wind passing 23GW for the first time... if it hadn't already been passed 4 days ago on the 5th Dec - exactly 1 year since the first time passing 22GW. grid.iamkate.com

This week the government announced that it wanted to ensure development next to train stations gets an automatic yes.

There’s one area near London where that won’t be happening.

And it’s home to a motorway that will soon be – by law – beautiful.

The BBC is in crisis in the same way that GB News would be if you put Owen Jones on the board armed with a veto and plenty of coffee.

Important contribution from Lewis Goodall, who describes in devastating detail his own personal experiences - and suggests Robbie Gibb and David Grossman should be removed from their current posts.
The reaction to the Panorama edit has been nothing short of hysterical. Yes the BBC has some impartiality problems. But its biggest isn't the one you think.

New piece from me.

Ah the reassuring feeling of going in to your local corner shop to buy some wine for the evening and the random number generator that passes off as a till lands on a big number

Sainsbury's have emailed me at 3pm today to tell me from the start of today (nice notice period) I will need an app to get 'normal' prices, and if not pay artificially high non nectar prices. Nice.

If that plane in 2001 had made it to the whitehouse it could have destroyed the very fabric of part of the building. Imagine.

There's a growing desire for a product. It happens to be lower carbon. China is meeting it, regardless of where the demand comes from.

I’m at a Tory fringe event about young voters which has been shown a massive (5,000+) poll of voters aged 16-40 - and it’s (not unexpectedly) very bad news for the Conservatives.
