We talk a great game, but at the end of the day, so much of it is about an autistic person not inconveniencing all us neurotypicals, and it’s so harmful. Just let people be people and do no harm.

Man, it’s hard work. My son is very high functioning, and will have what appears to be a “normal” life to anyone noticing. But here’s the thing: so much about how our society approaches autism and understands it is entirely couched in terms of them accommodating us. We don’t see it that way.

Because I have a child on the spectrum, I have, like any good parent, read a ton about it, talked with his therapists, etc. This is one major item that I have noticed from Day One and she’s right on the money.

I remember watching the premiere of You Could Be Mine. I didn’t give AF about Terminator 2 (good movie though), but knowing GNR had new material? That was all.
