Springs and Bounces in Native CSS • Josh W. Comeau
The “linear()” timing function is a game-changer; it allows us to model physics-based motion right in vanilla CSS! That said, there are some limitations and quirks to be aware of. I’ve been experiment...

"algorithmic choice" is one of my favorite principles at @bsky.app.

most social platforms decide what you see. we think you should have control when you want it.

Custom Feeds are a step toward that vision — what do you like about them today? what feels clunky or missing?

I'm getting more comfortable contributing to open source projects.
Then again, it's not massive contributions to massive projects, but it's the tiny things that annoy me in the software I use.

I've been finding coding fun, and I wanna do more of it, and that's what matters :)

Codeberg is an important independent alternative to GitHub for open source projects. Sad to see this happening.
Codeberg, a crucial resource for countless open-source projects, is being attacked by the far-right with a focus on projects advocating tolerance and equal rights.

This is an important indicator of what the far-right will do to open-source projects it feels are getting in its way.

We're coming to the point where decentralized social media contains the only structures we have left that aren't completely controlled by hard-right interests

The one centralized holdout is Bluesky, which will either need to be decentralized or may be the next right-wing target over this year

This will use existing Bluesky posts which might actually be preferable for people who don’t want to have to cross-post content.

I love the Fish shell writeup on their Rewrite-it-in-Rust journey. It's really nuanced: there's some good, some bad, some introspection on their own mistakes.

But most importantly: they did it! 2604 commits over ~two years of work across > 200 authors. Ship ship ship!
