It is vegans vs vegetarians debate. It is so much easier to argue with those who are similar: false dichotomy like EV or public transit is easier than trying to argue with climate deniers or petroleum lovers.

I loved that book as well. Wizard's Guide to Defensive Baking and Swordheart have the same fun and cozy tone. Swordheart is about the samel evel of spicy. Guide is more YA. I have not tried T Kingfisher's horror yet. I like Gothic horror but not psychological horror, so we'll see.

My response as well. I will not boycott the parks. It is not like the trees and critters voted for this, but I will gladly pay extra not to have that face in my car.

I was experiencing this a month ago, and it has taken a couple weeks of aggressive pruning and exploring new accounts, but thanks to Samuel Pepys, Malka Older, and a few other niche focused accounts, I see far fewer echoes of stories and I see n more diversity.

I suggest looking for another pile of garbage. That might indicate a good place to drop your garbage. One big pile is better than two little piles.

You can thank evolution for taking a fish ancestor's neck muscle and its nerve and moving them down to your belly as your diaphragm to power your lungs. No nerve should be that long. It is prone to shorting out. Evolution is wonderous, except when it is not.

I agree that agency is key. I also find agency is almost as hard to define at edge cases like insect colonies or cities.

One species using the feces of another species to meet its own caloric needs?! Weird. Humans would never do that. 🙃

I looked at the radar. Impressive pull of precipitation along the entire curve of your long axis, with a bit of help from Lakes Huron and Superior.
