Nova Scotia. I think I see some familiar faces here...still preoccupied with Springsteen, life, the universe and everything. Feminism. Health both public and reproductive. Covid ain't over.
Cause this is really not a great way to be "world class" #CobequidPass

Do we have gates at the access ramps to close off ramps like for the TransCanada in Quebec? (I cant remember) Surely that would make sense, to let the plows do their work first.
Seeing that the Cobequid pass has been a disaster again with multiple tractor trailers being stuck, off the road... I mean, wouldn't it make sense to close it BEFORE the storm, and not let people pass until it is cleared and the system is gone? it's every time the same story... #HaliSky

Sadly, I found myself unemployed at the end of October and am now searching for my next PR role in Halifax.

If you have leads, introductions, or are willing to share this post, I’d be grateful!

The responses in this thread.... @chaviva.bsky.social
my spouse and my children think i’m a sad nerd for letting my enjoyment of the novel i’m reading, set in 1789, be ruined by anachronisms such as its protagonist using “access” as a verb, the first known instance of which appeared in 1953. i don’t disagree with them.

I really hope the scientists out on Sable Island enjoy the emergency alerts for the Enfield area.

So the Mister is getting emergency alerts about some guy with a gun in Enfield, on his phone. I am not. We are in a car in Lunenburg County.

Countering all this takes independent and scrappy news publications that remain true to the values of holding the powerful to account.

Tree for Boston has arrived! 🎄

Every year, Nova Scotia gifts Boston a tree in gratitude of our support after the 1917 Halifax Explosion.

This 54 year tradition was extra special this year as @mayorwu.boston.gov helped cut down the tree in Nova Scotia.

I totally agree, it is a good book to read. And a good book to give.
How To Restore a Timeline is a holiday story about violence and memory. It takes place on a special variant of December 27, 2006—one that never ends, overlapping and consuming all time that dares come after.
And I hear it makes a great gift, available everywhere you buy books.

Last week, we saw Clash by Night (1952) at the @brattletheatre.bsky.social as part of their Noirvember series, so this week I reviewed it, analyzing the opposing portrayals of masculinity in the film by way of ethnic stereotypes it embraces.

And I concluded that Jerry is the realest one. 10/10 guy
