George potentially being sold is really shit. It's not surprising given the desperation to add their own prospects but it's just further chipping away at potential Cobham routes into the senior team. There's nothing they can do that is good enough for this regime, despite their own mediocrity.

Can he commit to playing him then? Coz we've had at least 6 months of this manager asking Gusto to do things he can't instead.

I've not really been plugged into the interviews after the game but can't believe Maresca said the only criticism came from the outside when he spent all winter negging his team.

The whole of Frankie’s, Stamford Bridge, cheered when they won.
This weekend
London 3 Manchester 0!
I have rarely seen as many people weep with joy as yesterday at Wembley

Glasner got it, with one beautiful quote that summed it up

There are other inspirations and examples though. Football needs more of such moments

Everything about the Club World Cup is a total joke. From the fact that they seem to select and deselect clubs completely arbitrarily, to the fact that its trophy has become part of Trump's permanent decor, to the fact that Chelsea are in it despite not playing in the champions league since 2022

Maresca is here because he will go along with it, it is possible for managers to go against staff that like Poch and Gallagher. And he's even been pretty harsh on Ty and Josh this season, dropping both for long stretches after one bad game.

Put it this way, I've no hope for their long term here.

Glasner is such a good manager to listen to. I’m quite envious of Palace.

Increasingly wondering if Clearlake investors actually just don't get enough football news

Congratulations to Donnell McNeilly, who finishes as the leading scorer in the #PL2 regular season stage. Now to go on and claim the overall crown after the playoffs are accounted for.

Last summer's transfer window, which was supposed to be the crowning jewel of their rebuild is one of the worst windows I've ever seen by a team.

Clearlake have failed at every aspect of running Chelsea. Sporting, commercial, plant, animal, mineral, you name it.

We stand a very high chance of missing the CL for 3rd year in a row now, despite there being 5 places available and 3 of our usual rivals falling off massively. That's disgraceful.

As much as I see the appeal of Maresca walking because the fans are too mean and stupid to understand his genius, I don't think he's getting a better job than this so, as with his superiors, he'll cling on to the bitter end.

Just remembered we pulled out of signing Tyler Adams because he was too injured and bought Lavia instead for triple the price.

Maybe Pochettino doesn't win us a trophy but I feel we would be in a better shape if we had let him see out his contract. The last 3 1/2 months our football has been slow, boring and very predictable but I guess it's inevitable when you appoint a yes manager with no pedigree as manager.

Job done Chels 👏🏼 much better 2nd half

⭐️ Noni Madueke - super sub 2 goals
✅ Tyrique George - first goal for Chelsea, solid performance
✅ Kiernan Dewsbury Hall - Probably his best performance, so unlucky today so many chances
✅ Malo Gusto - Solid performance out of position.

Apart from all the times you said it was fine to finish outside the CL spots, fine to go out of the cups to focus on the conference league, those high standards?
Maresca on cancelling a day off for the players after losing to U21s: "Since I joined the club, I always demand high standards. It was not an official game, some players not here but it was normal for players to be a bit relaxed. It was nothing strange or nothing new."

I still remain kinda shocked we've not seen more about the players hating the manager. There's little bits here and there about players doing other training etc and they're obviously playing like shit, but I'm just used to the accompanying leaks. And the cancelled day off is ripe for it.
