7 of the 8 phone calls I've gotten today have been from the same recorded scammer trying to push a garbage HELOC on me, but all from different numbers. I have to pick up my phone for work, so this is particularly annoying.

I was only 5 at the time, but I still very distinctly remember my mom's disappointment when Reagan got reelected. Even so, I'm sure she had no idea that they intended to go this far with it. The GOP is going to destroy the country to feed their greed.

He talks about taking three cognitive tests within a year like it's some kind of privilege. I have to get an echo of my heart every year to make sure it's not about to explode. If my doctor suddenly wanted to increase the frequency of that, I would not consider it a source of pride.

Just replaced a $100 discharge pump on my 1.5 year old dishwasher because it was out of warranty and I didn't want to spend 2-3x that on professional repair or 10x on a new dishwasher. They really don't make them like they used to.

I don't understand how people develop relationships with AI chat bots. I've explicitly tried to do it just to see if I could figure out what was going on. There's nothing of substance there. It's just a machine that spits out exactly what its algorithms assume you want to hear.

I've been using Windows 11 since April. Work even supplied a new laptop (with better specs) just so I could stop using W10. It's been a net downgrade, in my opinion. Terrible UX. People aren't going to go out and spend money on new hardware just for an OS when there's no compelling reason to do so.

One thing that always rubbed me the wrong way about democrats is the way they use the word "populist" as a pejorative.

Bluesky's automated moderation is pretty terrible. But you can turn it off! Go into the moderation section of your settings and you'll find it under the advanced section near the bottom.

Interesting. Almost four hours after it happened and there's nothing about the shooting in DC on reddit's r/all and Popular pages. That place is definitely being heavily manipulated.

Ten god damn years of this bullshit.

This should be a much bigger, administration ending scandal than it's going to end up being. Having grown up in Reagan's 80s, I feel like I'm going crazy watching the GOP being puppeteered by the Kremlin.

99 out of 100 of my voicemails: "Hey, this is sofia thompson, wanted to get in touch from the funding approval group"

1 out of 100: "This is your doctor. We have important test results for you."

I have no choice but to listen to all of this shit.

My most controversial Star Wars take: the original trilogy is held to a much lower standard than any of the new films ever have been. If you're willing to accept the many flaws the OT had, then just fucken relax and enjoy the damn space soap opera. It never was perfect so stop expecting that.

Part of me wonders if this is Trump's plan to keep the price of foreign made goods high after the tariffs get thrown out by getting us sanctioned. The ghoul has almost as little reverence for human life as his puppet master putin does.

Everything about this might be the saddest thing I’ve ever seen

I just spent most of the day thinking I made some kind of extremely expensive (>$50k) mistake at work because I thought I missed a detail when doing the proposal. I just found out the detail I thought I missed was actually the mistake and everything is fine.

Thanks to his new Tesla pay package, Elon Musk will make $3 billion more per year than all 1.4 million elementary school teachers in the U.S. combined.

Still wondering if income inequality is out of control?

A boycott with a time limit is pointless. Who keeps suggesting this crap? Boycotts require actual changes to your own personal habits to be effective, which is why Americans can't seem to muster the motivation to follow through on a real one.

Dept. of Ed is reclassifying all the female dominated professions (nurse, therapist, speech pathologist, PA) as not having “professional” degrees, which makes it harder for them to get educational loans.

Another FUCKED UP thing this admin is doing to attack women’s power.

Take that shit to court!

Those of you asking for the Epstein files to be leaked... There are over 300,000 documents in that "file." Any attempt to access, copy, print or send those documents is logged, and the whistleblower would be locked up before they even logged out. It's not for a lack of will, trust me.
