One year ago today, I sold my first pin badge at canopyrobin.etsy.com and set out to fund my trans healthcare expenses sustainably by creating a small business alongside my fulltime job. This quoted thread shares the 17 designs and 106 variations I've made since then!

It's been an amazing day. Thank you to everyone who's said nice things about my designs and to everyone who has ordered one. I've just put a whole bunch of orders in my local postbox and I'm excited for them to head out into the world!

Probably my most popular recent pin, and one that I'm incredibly proud of, is this hinged tree identification design that brings me back to my roots as a forest ecologist. Not only is it a useful miniature guide, you can tap it to access a digital resource! canopyrobin.etsy.com/listing/4386...

And finally, today, one year after launching my first LGBTree pride pin to help fund transition, I'm launching another tree!

This time the trees are decorated for Christmas as part of my winter pin drop!

I'm also releasing a whole flock of robins for my seasonal pin drop!

There's one robin that's just regular bird colours but the rest are all pride flags from different aspects of my personal identity 😊🐦

Robin is celebrating one year since they sold their very first enamel pin badge.

This thread has all of their pin designs, including some new designs released today - go check them out!

Robin is so incredible and talented. I'm incredibly proud of what they've created and how they make people feel.
On November 17th last year I sold my first enamel pin badge at canopyrobin.etsy.com in an attempt to create a new stream of income that might eventually cover the expenses of trans healthcare instead of perpetual GoFundMes 🏳️‍⚧️

As we approach the anniversary, I'm going to celebrate one design each day

Labour is an unbelievably evil party and it truly breaks my spirit to know that people will still defend them or position them as a “lesser evil”.

Me, when I come out to people
They outright said "the robin you think you know is dead."

I'm friends with a couple of the elfs, going to give them grief for this - I was quite upset by that one, I have a robin(s) that come back to my whitethorn tree every year.

I've sold a few of these to people outside the UK, who might not benefit quite as much from the digital guide that loads when you tap it with your phone... The good news though is that NFC chips like this one can be rewritten using free phone apps to point at whatever website or ID guide you like!

My most recent pin designs are these split pronoun pins, which show different pronouns depending on the angle you see them from. It's such a cool effect and helps to ensure a mix of pronouns are actually used! canopyrobin.etsy.com/listing/4396...

I think it's safe to say that people are pretty 'aware' right now. What we actually need is safety and allyship but happy #TransgenderAwarenessWeek anyway.

If you want a trans pin, either as a pride symbol or in solidarity, this is your regular reminder that I sell a bunch at canopyrobin.etsy.com

Although the trans fern has never made a profit, its still one of my favourite #SciArt pieces I've created. I really love how it came out and I wear mine all the time. I even made a version that glows in the dark! 🌿🏳️‍⚧️ canopyrobin.etsy.com/listing/4312...

Out of curiosity, do I know someone (who knows someone) who counts spiders in rainforests? I want to use a short clip of them working for a video and I'd love to use a real scientist. #spiders

It took me a long time to design pronoun pins because I wanted to create something really special, that I'd never seen before (also, the shape variations for each pin make them a relatively expensive investment).

I made these: colour change 'mood' pronoun pins!
