20+ years in social care and staffing in Scotland. One man and his dogs. He/Him. I swear on Bluesky as it's me, not my company that I speak for. My company is much more polite.
Would 20 of my schoolmates please help me remember whether or not I am a MASSIVE racist? I'm hazy on it...

Same for Adult Social Care. Once you set your sights on reorganisation to save money - whilst taking plenty of donations from private health care - surely questioning everyone’s diagnosis and right to treatment is the natural progression.
So Wes Streeting's plan for solving mental health is to do the same thing over and over again, expecting different results.

I reckon there's a bloke at the Mail working out a "Labour so unpopular, migrants not coming to UK in boats" article.
Expect to see this all over BBC news coverage because‘reform’ voters are interested and the BBC like to appeal to them 🥴

It may be a long wait.
There have been no small boat crossing in the England Channel for 16 days now.

This is the longest period without any since January 2024 &the 2nd longest since Feb 2020 (pre-COVID).

Nov saw 2338 arrivals - down 25% on the year before.

Sep-Nov quarter was down 18% on the year before.

Zero fucking investment in Social Care but hey-ho, we can't rely on immigrants, we just need to do what? Imagine UK care workers into being by the power of thought? Is in a Manifesting Manifesto we need?

Polite reminder:

Not everyone is cut out to work in care and it shouldn't be the "go to" for solving generic unemployment problems.

Is this definitely bad news? Loads of complaints going back years and years from the local towns and villages and plenty of reports of "irregular" burns. Sorry about the job losses but Scotland needs to look at options outwith Oil Majors.

Please allow me a moment of Occam's razor analysis and assume all the people in Scotland that want to work in care, already work in care. And, also accept that there is a FRIGHTENING shortage of carers available in Scotland. Well, now what do we do? #socialcare
