Here's what I love about the JAWS franchise:

I found this old piece I wrote on the Halloween weekend of 1999. I was visiting my friend in DC, and we went out drinking (pretty much all I did during those years).

Here's how the piece ended...
Jenny tells me she is going to stay after closing, leaving me to fend for myself in a city I hardly know. She gives me the key to her place and tells me she needs some time alone. I know she’s lying. Earlier, I saw Jenny making out with God. I know it’s not really her, but Jenny wearing a mask, and it really wasn’t God, but a bartender wearing a mask. And here I am, wearing this mask, drinking this beer, trying to make sense of it all because, what? I’m lonely? Or maybe I’m scared I’ll overthink my way into a more miserable timeline? I made it back to Jenny’s place inside one of those accelerated blurs that make you nervous the next day. I remember talking to the taxi driver about something dreadfully important. I remember looking out the window at the city, the glow of an orange haze, with people in masks fading into shadows. I don’t know which one of me had these thoughts or memories. I don’t know which one of me passed out on the couch. I don’t know which one of me opened the door for Jenny when she came home around dawn. I don’t even know which one of me is writing this. I can’t seem to keep track of me anymore. It’s okay, though. For the next forty-eight hours or so, we can all afford to lose ourselves. We can wear as many masks and be as many people as we want. But come Monday, when Halloween has passed, what excuse will we have then?

When I was a kid, my mother played this album all the time. I hated it.

With the anniversary of her passing approaching, I wanted to have this album for myself. I managed to find it at a music shop in Germany.

Now, of course, I love the music. I'd let her play it all the time again if I could.

I love the packaging of this special edition book by PigOut and Corso Przemek. Just lovely work all around. I might have to pick this one up.
A book that looks like an 80s VHS tape in a slipcase that looks like a VHS slipcase. At a quick glance, it doesn't even look like a book at all.

I think the whole Russian drones in Poland incident would have been easier to manage if my wife didn't wake up to a parade of Facebook posts that read RUSSIA INVASION!, WE ARE AT WAR! and RUSSIA HAS ENTERED POLAND! Social media is going to be the death of us all.

All of this just unlocked something I had completely forgotten about: The M comic book by Jon J. Muth. It's experimental, but really interesting. It even had a record in it with "In the Hall of the Mountain King".

I like Jason Bateman, but his inability to form coherent questions for his podcast guests is one of those things that keeps me up at night.

It's really hard to find a consistent set of the Dark Tower hardcover books that are affordable. But I'm enjoying the different versions of the older paperbacks (but they can get pricey too).

I'm in love with the Polish versions...

That last book really bums me out...
Some Stephen King Dark Tower books standing on a shelf. There are three DT paperbacks and the third one is shorter than the other two. It is the worst thing to ever happen to me.
