Probably easiest to start with:
Centrist Dad, then head to
Car Nerd (or Bore, if he's left to it) and finally
Posts about my industry (although I'd rather keep my specific profession out of things)
Mainly skeets/ bleets about politics and cars though.
I NEED to watch The Untouchables again. It is an absolute masterpiece.

The viewing as anything else other than amazing of a scheme to get the mobility impaired more mobile, is a scandal.

And certainly shouldn’t be used as something to try and win votes.
It took me less than 10 minutes to find the numbers and work out the figures to show that there is no widespread fraud in the Motability Programme.

If I could do it so easily, why couldn't the government?

(5,300 people kicked off Motability in '24 is only 0.0062 of total Motability clients.)

Excellent late GenX/ Early Millennial content here.
I've got a 7pm submission deadline, so of course I'm messing around here until it's so time critical it actually just gets done (journalists are a weird bunch). So...

Name a band where their one good song is truly excellent but everything else they do is just, well, not.

Yay! I get to be a car bore twice in two days!
@jonnelledge.bsky.social does a lot of low emission walking, hence will get impacted by particulates from EVs, even though they have zero *tailpipe* emissions. The cars therefore should be taxed for health reasons.

Someone riddle me this.
Unless ALL farmers only have one child, who is set to inherit the entire farm, how is this an issue?
Yes, I’m aware that the tax falls to the estate of the deceased, but only a single child will inherit a business, unless all the children live together.
It makes no sense.
People in London have had enough of these tax-avoiding rich landowners with £400,000 vehicles clogging up the capital.

I think at this point if you're including Diane Abbott - a woman who has never held government office, has been a backbencher since 2020, and is scarcely a government ally - on your list of political wrongdoers, we all know exactly what your real concerns are

This is abhorrent and a nasty right wing social media lie.
Please, someone go and lease a Ford Focus rather than a Mercedes A-Class.

Get back to me with your progress.
“The Motability scheme was set up to protect the most vulnerable. Not to subsidise the lease on a Mercedes Benz,” Reeves says.

Misleading and nasty in equal measure.

Is ChatGPT a website or an app?
I’ve no idea, and it’s bliss 🥰
one of the coolest things about ChatGPT is how you can actually just never use it. you can fill your whole entire life with simply not once using it. it's incredible.

This isn’t aimed at the OP, but surprise surprise you don’t need to go that far through the replies to find an equivalent of “all politicians are the same” and it’s taking every fibre of my being to not either 1) block or 2) jump on them.
Why are people?

Some mince pies have just been made in our house and there was some remnants of the filling left in here, so I cleared it out as best I could with a sundae spoon.
BlueSky doesn’t do polls, but which is the correct answer:
It’s fine to eat mincemeat out the jar:
1) Yes
2) Yes with ensuing heartburn

Rather apposite.
Last evening I could not for the life of me recall the name of this model of car.
I have what I call “a book” about these, which I didn’t have to hand.
According to 99.9% of the internet and every Google result, this thing doesn’t exist.
