Bris chomps down on the salmon jerky and eats the whole piece. Merlwyb yells at her again, to no avail, as Eynzahr angrily points and shouts to throw Bris in the brig. Merlwyb asks the translator if Bris understands him, and he replies "I think so. It's just she's got a thick accent." Bris tells the translator the jerky was delicious, and he relays that information to Merlwyb. Bris then says "Tell the big broad if I can more of the salmon jerky, I'll cut down any problem she wants me to deal with," while jerking a thumb towards Merlwyb. The translator looks at Merlwyb and Eynzahr in absolute panic as Merlwyb instructs him to translate what Bris said "word for word" so there won't be any misunderstandings.

Eynzahr holds his palms to his face and dismisses the sergeant. Merlwyb attempts to introduce herself to Bris, but Bris replies with gibberish, failing to understand the Maelstrom admiral Bris again speaks gibberish. Merlwyb and Eynzahr both strike thinking poses as they consider the situation. Merlwyb says a language barrier must be the issue, and Eynzahr agrees. He recognizes Bris's language as Doman, and he sends for a translator. The translator has arrived and asks how he can help. Merlwyb explains the situation to him. Meanwhile, Bris has approached the admiral's desk and is looking at a plate with two small strips of meat on it. She says it looks tasty. Bris has now snatched up one of the strips, and she asks the translator in Doman what it is. He replies in shock that she's just taken the admiral's salmon jerky. Merlwyb and Eynzahr look on in shock at the brazen theft of snacks.

Prior to the main events of ARR, Bris spent a chunk of time wandering La Noscea and being kind of a menace. Her actions against bandits and pirates got her on Merlwyb's radar. Eventually, Maelstrom intelligence tracked her down. The first meeting was...rocky, given the language barrier.

Merlwyb and Eynzahr are in the Command Room of Limsa Lominsa. Out of the windows, it's the orange haze of sunset. Merlwyb is reclining in her chair. She says "Thank the Navigator this day is over" as she looks exhausted. Eynzahr is standing next to her desk and replies "Hate to say it, Admiral, but you might have one more thing to handle" and brings up a vigilante they've been looking for. Merlwyb remarks that it better not take long. A roegaedyn woman in red Maelstrom officer attire salutes. Next to her is Bris, with short hair around her face and a ponytail. She wears an all-wite robe with a white scarf draped loosely around her neck, and she has a white leather eyepatch over her left eye. Her katana is affixed to her left hip. The Maelstrom sergeant says she's brought the vigilante. Merlwyb wonders "this little thing is what's got the bandits running for the hills?" The sergeant agrees with Merlwyb's comment when Eynzahr yells "You mean to tell me you let a complete unknown bring a weapon into the admiral's quarters? Have you lost your mind!" Merlwyb puts a hand to her head at her desk and reminds Eynzahr she's got a headache A close up of the sergeant, who is holding her head in fear as she looks towards Bris. She apologizes to Eynzahr but says "She was calm til we tried to confiscate her sword. She took down three Maelstrom officers and two Yellowjackets without breaking a sweat." Bris looks at the sergeant with a devious grin.

I workshopped some shots of this for a comic a week or so ago. Wasn't happy enough with any of the test shots to use them for real but I don't mind showing a couple off as concept art lol

Too many things cut into my blorbo time, but I at least can show off some other characters for the stories I'm working on.

Tasuka is a childhood friend of Bris's. Wounded when their town was attacked, she lost the stamina to be a swordswoman. Valeria is the Garlean is the led that attack.
A roegaedyn woman with dark skin and freckles across her cheeks and nose. She has white hair, falling around her face and put back in a ponytail She wears a green and whtie robe, and a sword is affixed to her hip. The same roegaedyn but now older. Her cropped hair is much shorter, and she has a black bandana around her forehead. She now wears an orange robe instead of green, and her right arm is slipped outside the robe, revealing a tattoo along her arm and chest. A Garlean woman in red-and-gold armor performing the Imperial salute. She has wavy blond hair that falls over the right side of her face, and some of it is pulled up in a ponytail behind her.

It's the final day of #Fluffvember, which was "AU of choice/free day."

So, what if it's the Bad Timeline for Bris, where she's wrapped up with the person who attacked her town. And here she is, in the worst relationship she could possibly be in.

Bris is in her quarters, off-balance and leaning back. She's missing her right arm still and she still has her huge ponytail, but rather than her usual robe, she's wearing a green dress with no sleeves. Her face is not visible, but her left arm is held up. In front of her is a tall, blonde Garlean woman in an imperial coat. The Garlean's hair is also in a ponytail, with wavy strands about her face. She has one hand on Bris's hip, the other grasping Bris's left hand. The Garlean woman, Valeria, says, "Ah, Brisingr via Martialis, that you should still dress and decorate like one of them. I find it adorable, and I do so love crushing small rebellions." A closer shot of Valeria's face. Her eyes are widened slightly, and she has an unsettling smile on her face as she says "Now I'm here to give you all my love..." The shot is flipped so Bris's face is now visible over Valeria's shoulder. Instead of her usual black eyepatch, she has a much bulkier red-and-gold metallic covering over her left eye. Her ears are perked, and her expression is fearful with her right eye widened as Valeria continues, "so I can see your face when I take it all away."

Bris now rests one arm against the hilt of her sword as she points towards Hythlodaeus and Venat. She asks "Hang on, how does having a kid work here?" Hythlodaeus and Venat both strike explanatory poses as they describe the process. Hythlodaeus tells Bris a couple simply heads to a local family affairs office, where each submit an aether sample. Venat continues, saying from there creation magic weave together the aether, and a soul is drawn towards the new body. Hythlodaeus follows with asking Bris if it's more complicated for her Bris holds her head in both hands, eyes wide, as she struggles to explain how babies are made. She describes "bits" and who has them and where they go, but she never seems to finish a thought before trailing into the next. Venat and Hythlodaeus ask questions, confused by Bris's ramblings. At the end, Hythlodaeus exclaims "Emet-Selch just has to hear this." A shot of Emet-Selch from roughly the shoulders up. The colors are mostly drained out of the shot, and he wears an expression somewhere between disbelief, disgust, and annoyance. He only asks, "...they do what?"

Hythlodaeus sits at the table with Bris. Bris worries she's upset Emet, but Venat and Hythlodaeus reassure her he just needs time to sort out his thoughts. Hythlodaeus has an idea for while they wait Venat has now joined Hythlodaeus, standing next to his chair at the table. Hythlodaeus wants to know more about Bris, and Venat agrees. Venat says Bris mentioned a partner and wants to know if they have children. Hythlodaeus is now also intrigued, wanting to know about family dynamics from Bris's world. Bris holds up her hands defensively, telling the two Ancients they're getting a little personal. But she says she and Yugiri have no kids together, and they couldn't anyway. Hythlodaeus asks why not, and Venat follows up asking if there's something preventing them from having children. Bris sits at her chair, one hand to her head and one on the chair, with wide eyes as she just asks, "What?"

As November's funny ship-posting prompts come to a close, I wanna do more story/lore stuff with Bris. So, here's a short story from the 2.X era, and I had the silly idea to make a custom quest prompt for it.

Bris sits on a railing, wearing her white robes. She's holding a jug on a rope in her hand. Next to her is Venat, looking disapprovingly into a small mug she holds in her hands. Venat says "This is positively foul," and Bris replies, "It isn't that bad! Next time, I'll bring you my favorite though. It's peach flavored." Emet's such a nice guy, he also gave Bris her arm and eye back when infusing her with aether. A shot of a bight blue floor. A tall sake cup rests on the floor, and Bris reaches from off-screen so her hand is visible placing a smaller, filled sake cup on the floor. She says "Well, it took me a while to make good on my promise." Now Bris is visible, sitting on her knees in a kneeling position. She looks up at Hydaelyn, who is splayed on the floor after the battle in the Mother Crystal. In front of Hydaelyn are the two sake cups, and Bris reaches out with her hand on top of a jug. The Mother Crystal itself floats in the background, and Bris says "But let's have one more drink, Venat. I brought the peach one, just like I said I would."

Bris and Yugiri are in their house, both sitting at a desk. Bris wears a nice green robe with a purple undershirt, and Yugiri has on a purple kimono. In front of them both is blank paper, and they each hold a calligraphy brush. Bris has a bottle of sake next to her, and Yugiri has a glass of wine. Yugiri also seems to have a devious grin on her face. The same desk but viewed from a slightly different angle. Bris has handed over a poem to Yugiri, saying "I hope you like it. It's a little embarrassing now that I think about it." Her poem is a haiku that reads "My hear, permafrost / Thawed by the spring of your love / Blooming love anew." Yugiri looks at the poem with a soft smile, hand to her heart, and says "I love it when you show this side of yourself. Never be embarrassed!" Bris reaches for a piece of paper with Yugiri's poem as Yugiri says "Now read mine!" Bris replies, "I can't wait to see it." Bris holds the poem but her expression has changed to a bit of a scowl. Yugiri simply sips from her wine glass with closed eyes. Her poem reads, "Roses are red / Violets are fine / I'll be the six / If you'll be the nine"

Bris replies "You're barking up the wrong tree if you're looking for gossip. That lovey-dovey stuff ain't for me" Same shot but from an angle now looking past Bris at Thancred and G'raha. Thancred points at Bris and says "I didn't want to go this route, Brisingr, but you've left us no choice. G'raha, if you would please present the evidence." G'raha says "right away!" and reaches into his pocket. A shot of G'raha's evidence. It's a photo of Yugiri in a swimsuit with the ocean sunset behind her. She's flashing two peace signs and smiling as the sunbeams glitter past her. Back to a shot of Bris in front of the pool. Upon seeing the photo of Yugiri, her ears and tail have perked up, and instead of scoffing, she's got a big smile on her face. Yugiri and Bris are lying in bed at in the evening time. They're both dressed housewear, Yugiri with a purple nightgown and Bris in a green housecoat. Bris's hair is down, and she's rolled on her left side, facing away from Yugiri. Yugiri is on her back, and her face is flushed red. She reaches out to Bris and says, "Say, Bris, I don't actually have any pants right now." Yugiri is no longer reaching for Bris and instead has rolled slightly away from her. Her face is no longer red, and she has a deeply annoyed expression. Bris has not flinched at all and replies "It's ok. We can buy you some new ones tomorrow."

Bris now holds her hands towards Yugiri and asks "Can I?" Yugiri still looks shocked and says "wait, right now?!" Bris says of course, and Yugiri quickly peeks around the corner before saying "Fine! But be quick about it!" A closer shot over Bris's shoulder. Yugiri has closed her eyes in anticipation, blushing, and her mouth is open just slightly. Bris has placed her hands on either side of Yugiri's face, touching her horns. Suddenly, a bell goes off. Bris sprints away, saying "That's the bell! If I'm late again, the professor's gonna kick my ass! Catch you later, Yugiri!" Yugiri, meanwhile, stands almost stunned - still blushing but eyes narrowed and mouth open wider in a different kind of shock and confusion Yugiri, leaned over a bit and arms wide out to her side, now looks furious and shouts "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!"

The sukeban girls are standing just outside a classroom in their uniforms. Yugiri's got her purple suit jacket, orange tie, and purple dress while Bris is in her green sailor outfit top and dress. Both her hands are wrapped in bandages, and she has her wooden sword on her hip. Yugiri is in a thinking pose while Bris looks a bit awkward with her right had on her head and her left resting on her sword. Yugiri is saying she wishes Bris would she her more affection. Bris replies that it's embarrassing, but Yugiri says "surely there must be something about me you want to touch." Bris now holds up a finger and says "Well, now that you mention it, there is something." Yugiri strikes a fist pump in excitement and says "Now we're getting somewhere! What is it?" A shot of just Bris, her eyes closed and expression concentrated as she holds up her hands in front of her, palms cupped towards herself. She says, "I wanna touch both of them! They just look like they're perfect size to fit in my hands! And I gotta know if the tips are as pointy as they look! What do they feel like!" A counter-shot close-up of just Yugiri. Bris and Yugiri are crossing through a small grassy area in the middle of town. Bris wears a flowing green robe with purple undershirt. A dagger is tucked into her waistband, and her sword is affixed to her hip. She's carrying a rice ball in one hand. Yugiri walks next to her in the opposite colors: a purple overcoat with green undershirt. Yugiri asks why Bris didn't bring her a rice ball, to which Bris replies it was the last one at the stall Yugiri suddenly points into the distance, exclaiming there's a samurai challenging people to duels. Bris perks up - because she is a fight-brained freak - and excitedly asks where with a big grin on her face While Bris was distracted, Yugiri has seized the chance to take a big bite out of the rice ball.

She's wearing only a pair of shorts and her sarashi wrap, her hair is down, and she's missing her eyepatch - though her left eye is closed. Her right eye is open wide in fear and confusion as she clutches at her missing right arm. Yugiri leans over the rocks, wearing a purple nightgown, with one hand to her heart and the other on the small bridge over the pond. Yugiri has now climbed into the pond herself, sitting behind Bris. She has wrapped both her arms around Bris and leans her head to Bris's. Bris's shocked, fearful expression has faded slightly into saddened face, but she still holds her right shoulder. The soft orange glow of lanterns from somewhere in the hard washes over them as they sit in the water.

Bris(?) covers the side of her mouth and says to Yugiri, "I just needed a break. So I thought I'd sneak off and see how everyone's doing here!" And yet...there's no trace of her normal accent in her speech. Yugiri ponders this and asks "did you pick up a different accent while you were over there?" Yugiri begins fanning herself as she says "It's actually a little hot. You should come home with me, right now." Bris(?) blushes a bit but her normal face markings are now gone. And in fact, as she objects saying "I'm not sure I'll have time for that" she's put not one but two hands up in protest. Yugiri continues saying "Come on, I'll wear that thing you like..." and Bris(?) blurts out "huh?!" Now, the disguise is totally off as Samidare's illusion has been broken. though he's still wearing a similar outfit to Bris, he's back to his original looks. Yugiri holds her daggers to his throat saying "Well, just as I thought! A poor imitation by a poor actor. Now who are you, and what you doing in my sanctuary?" Back to the House of the Fierce from the first shot. Yugiri take a sip of her tea and says only "They had neither your spirit nor your grace." Bris looks away, confused, and wonders aloud, "...now just what in the hells does that mean...?"
