It was such a shocking day. My (CTU member) teacher immediately burst into tears when they announced it over the PA. It was very unlike her, and we all just got so quiet.

(I'd swap 6&7, personally, but I wouldn't get into a tizzy about it. But have gotten into a tizzy about watching ISP interact with protestors.)

One tenant named Darren Hightower said he had been at the building for about 2 years, "watching this place fall apart."
"This has nothing to do with the ICE situation," he said. "This building has been deteriorating for over the past year."

Anybody who has been in the infantry will tell you foxholes are a lot more useful in an artillery barrage than a rifle is. Charlotte worked hard to make it easy for folks to keep their heads down and I’m very proud of my community for that. But it wasn’t because anyone had a gun on CBP.
