How effective has impeachment been?
The problem is not that we can’t impeach the president. Although we can and should. The real problem is that we can’t impeach Stephen Miller because we never elected or confirmed him.

"Hours after an ICE agent killed the mother of three, Elon Musk’s chatbot was undressing her."
In one of the most appalling developments of past day, Elon Musk's AI chatbot desecrated Renee Nicole Good's body. That's in addition to harassing women and sexually exploiting minors. By @katieherchenroeder.bsky.social

What cancelled performer has done this? We actually _expect_ them to lurch off and, after some ugly court cases, waste their lives searching for an audience among resentful white men.
When a cancelled performer reënters the culture, we expect them to offer us a great work, channelling their newfound clarity into the finest art they’ve ever made. With his new comedy show and début novel, has Louis C.K. met the bar?

Louis C.K.’s Next Chapter
In a new standup special, and a début novel, the comedian navigates murky, post-#MeToo terrain: not quite exiled, not quite welcomed back.

Don't people understand that politics is the art of compromise? The Democrats are making small sacrifices in order to build political capital for when they really need it on a major issue.
This deal to reopen the government is fucking disgraceful.

Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened.

This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.

GREAT thread full of great suggestions.
Best movie score that is rarely mentioned when great movie scores are discussed, maybe because it's unconventional?

I think my number one is Neil Young's score for Jim Jarmusch's Western Dead Man.
