I remain an absolute sucker for any #drawing series where the artist unspools their thought and labor across an aggregate of minute volumes that bring making and viewing closer to reading & writing.

Nicole Eisenman has a great #painting show at 52 Walker Street showing possibilities between representation & the invention of images & meaning through material & scale. These connect to the lineage of grand history & religious paintings while subverting what is a patriarchal form.

A great suite of Joan Mitchell drawings as a part of ‘To Define a Feeling, Joan Mitchell 1960 - 1965’ at David Zwirner gallery. I love the use of heavy black charcoal to build a sense of shifting masses out of raw gesture.

#JoanMitchell at David Zwirner Gallery. I love me a triptych. Especially one that plays with subtle shifts in movement and mass across the panels that ultimately affects the viewer’s sense of time in the #painting.
