This relates to my experiences living w ‘scene-y’ queer Americans who never talked about political issues beyond their borders & IDs. It’s an incuriosity that breeds a lack of empathy. For people living outside the west, and for those confined by high-control, high-surveillance western structures.

In media, autism usually shows up in the aloof, misanthropic genius or someone whose high support needs are a burden, & an invitation for abuse. Rarely is the depiction about desiring connection, and how they fail, & are failed, in that pursuit. Rarely is it done with so much love.

Okay, François! Saw this as I was about to rewatch episode 3 with the highest-billed actor in the series ;). I, too, appreciate his work. Esp using 'sceney' LOL.

By all means, donate to the causes that Olandria has named, and keep calling out the horrific racism against her. Just don’t take this white family of these grifters too seriously.

There’s NEVER a cop out for rhetoric minimising what the Biden/Harris admin did, & what Harris campaigned to continue. If you can only name crimes against humanity when it’s from Trump or being done to YOUR people/family, you’re also a monster. And it’s why you can’t understand a victory like this.

Liberal Black ‘thought leaders’ can be fickle and weird. If you’re advocating for a group you’re not in, and any apprehension to how you’re advocating prompts this response, check yourself. You’re probably not doing it for them.
