my take on Food Discourse is that it's always ridiculous but it's also nice to be fighting about dumb internet shit again instead of dealing with Oppressive Despair all the time so please keep posting your bad takes

You know how there are some historical reenactment museum areas where you can go and see people dressed old timey churning butter and making horseshoes? There should be one that's a bar and kids can go listen to reenactors complain about their city's sports teams from different decades

Today I passed a billboard w/ an ai-ass nativity scene beneath a giant cosmic Jesus and big text asking "Do You Love The Man As Much As The Baby?" and I choked on the coke zero I was drinking while driving and I stifled a cough and the bubbles foamed up through my nasal passages. I felt so present.

First attested in the 1840s, “pixilated” means crazed, deranged, afflicted by mischievous spirits (eg pixies). Which is why I just overheard Porky Pig tell Daffy Duck “You’re pixilated!” in a cartoon from 1948 that my kids were watching.

Anyway, strongly preferring tricky/resistant fiction doesn't make me any more sophisticated, this is just the only brain I have. The vet said our dog is a "power chewer" and I was like…oh, yes. Me too.

[I am using the text box to exorcise the sense that I should like to read things I do not.]

Being tricky or complex is not enough to make a book good. I just don't really enjoy books that require no figuring out, and I am only getting more this way. If I am reading for fun it should be fun for me and Watching Things Happen is not really fun for me, I need some room to think.
