Feminist, leftie, māmā. Tangata Tiriti, she/her. Opinions stated are entirely my own and do not reflect any other person or organisation.
My reading is that row 24 is worked identically to row 8, and will increase your stitch count by 2. Each time you then repeat rows 1-24, you'll be increasing the stitch count on row 8, 16 and 24 of the cycle.

There are few statements more embarrassing than "I don't WANT to do this but David Seymour MADE me" and National voters do not like being embarrassed

Given that they ALSO want to implement "AI" marking I suspect you could probably pass high school classics in NZ with an essay based on the critical role of Julianus Vatinius' Cretan archers in the ascendance of House Brutii

I know they're political players who will sacrifice a lot of principles for power, but no one likes to *think* of themselves that way

Do you think the coup-curious really see the internal liberal/conservative split as unimportant? I've seen Willis and Bishop be quite assertive on support for LGBTQ+ issues and having Simeon merrily ban puberty blockers so NZF can crow about "defeating woke" must irk them on several levels

MPs can be based in an area without being the electorate MP!

The left did not "lose seats" because the party vote determines the distribution of seats across Parliament.

Having a local National MP might suck but it is not a factor in changing the government

The Epsom deal was explicitly to prop up a sub-5% party

No. Rongotai became Wellington Bays, Wellington Central became North, Ōhāriu, Mana and Ōtaki became Kenepuru and Kāpiti. Every other name is the same. The government doesn't decide these things, the Electoral Commission does.

I say again unto you: Labour TRIED this, with abortion reform, with the cannabis referendum, fair pay agreements, going soft to appeal to the right ans the fundy fringe, and they STILL got called babykillers, junkies and communists, didn't they

"But the right will call us groomers" if they already think that, noncommittal waffle won't persuade them, and if they are persuadable, make a strong statement to persuade them! It's literally your job!
November 24, 2025 at 5:41 AM
Centrist waffle doesn't appeal to people. Showing that you care about something, that you want to make people's lives better, that you will listen to them and use your position to do it, and unifying "minor" issues under a coherent story about your principles and goals REALLY APPEALS TO PEOPLE

Absolutely agreed. Greens have just committed to "timely, free, non-discriminatory access to all forms of gender-affirming healthcare based on informed consent and self-determination" - it shouldn't be hard for labour to make that commitment.
