You - yes, you - can play real arcade games at home! Let me walk you through the basics, and hopefully turn something that sounds scary and strange into just another way to experience some incredible games:

The what, why, and how of playing arcade games at home
What “What” is the easiest part: This is a ramble covering the topic mentioned in the title above – playing arcade games at home, specifically using real arcade hardware connected…

Dom and his gang did lovely work on our game. We were delighted with the cover art, promo art, logo and copy.
I never really used to design anything but something about this game made me see how it should be. I did the logo, character design, and all the copywriting. People with more talent made it prettier

Sometimes as a writer it is important to really test yourself - to take risks, to break out of your comfort zone and do something radically new. With this in mind, I have written a nostalgic article about a Sega game

Space Harrier at 40: how Sega’s surreal classic brought total immersion to arcades in the 80s
As they flew above Yu Suzuki’s innovative, psychedelic 3D landscapes combating space dragons and alien rock monsters, the moving arcade cabinet would physically involve players in the action

The Japanese Mario 64 official strategy guide is an incredible thing. "Can we make little hand-made dioramas of all the levels?" "Sure, why the hell not."

Well the good news is my game Millie & Molly works on the #Switch2. I expect a massive uplift in sales with people hoping to push their new hardware to the limits ;) And it’s on sale for less than £2 from the shop courtesy of @thalamusdigital.bsky.social

I'm running the Manchester 10K next weekend. It's for a good cause - Pancreatic Cancer UK. My mate Geoff Follin was diagnosed with it this time last year, and it took him by the end of the same month. Please sponsor me. Even a £2 donation will make a difference. Proceeds go straight to the charity.

Repost with something that you own that most people don’t.

Silicon Graphics Indigo2, cost more than my house when release. I picked it up for £30.

One of the first games I worked on (as QA) “reimagined”.
A phrase that’s doing some heavy-lifting here.

Glad I was only a humble QA when working on this. It also makes me feel blessed that I’ve not had to work with a traditional publisher for over 10 years. God bless our backers.
Another example of the 'joys' being a game developer working with Acclaim in the 90s - originally published by the author a year or two ago. This was in relation to 'Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage'. The previous one I posted was for 'Spider-Man and the X-Men in Arcade's Revenge'.

handedness can be a little hard to wrap your head around - it's a very elusive concept as it's mostly perceptual/visual rather than being a property of the numbers/math itself

notably though, you can use it to figure out positive rotation directions, given an arbitrary axis!
