I had a long panic attack and everyone at the hospital involved thought I was afraid of the MRI. No! I’m afraid of driving in Pittsburgh in these conditions. I was so panicked I stop recognizing familiar places.

A lot of people cannot just start a paid newsletter or become freelancers to sustain their careers. The sports, metro, and international desks did work that requires *team* resources, like legal checks, documents, access to archives, and long-term beat experience.

Just listened to my first town hall call with state senator jay costa after years ignoring calls. Maybe don’t increase sales tax and get that huge hospital system to pay taxes.

UPMC should be paying for the City of Pittsburgh’s snowplows to be fixed and/or replaced. They’ve avoided paying billions in taxes over the years. It’s the least they should be required to do.

The last 48 hours & the silence of every celebrity is such a stark contrast to the performative Olympics they all engaged in just 6 years ago.

You had LeBron pretending to read page 1 of Assata Shakur’s & Malcolm X’s autobiography before EVERY game. Gavin Newsom learning who Toni Morrison was lmao

When Trump says it won’t end up costing the United States to illegally invade and “control” Venezuela because of the value of their oil, he means there will be a massive public cost, but that’s ok because private companies and oligarchs, including his family, will make a ton of money.
People wondering whether the US is going to be able to "run the country" of Venezuela at "no cost" might like to remind themselves it's a place one-third *larger* than Afghanistan, the running of which cost the US $2,260,000,000,000. (That's $2.26 trillion).

Listening to a podcast thing where people in debt or with otherwise bad finances get help/talk thru how they got there and so far 100% of the people's lives are ruined by car debt, car collisions, not being able to get to work because their car is broken, etc.
