My mom texted me at 7am to remind me that it was her birthday--her THIRD birthday sober.

She didn't need to remind me, because every year we have with her is a year we never thought we would have. I'm so proud of how far she's come and the milestones we get to celebrate.

And sure, in my opinion Al Qaeda is a terror group but it’s one that the US created conditions for and is partially responsible for creating. That doesn’t give us a right to bomb them and it doesn’t justify any of our actions globally nor does it make the US less of a terror group

That would make Hamas a military. What you’re trying to use as a qualifier is state sanction or international recognition which isn’t a good qualifier when places like Palestine were stopped from having “official” militaries. But that doesn’t mean that they don’t.

Claiming that a military can’t commit acts of terror and become a terror group is ridiculous. In the same way a state can become a terror state. And it’s odd that in order to believe that you have to first believe that you get to decide who has a valid enough military.

I would still like to know how you define a terrorist? Not how the US government defines it. Do you personally view bombing hospitals, starving children, decimating infrastructure, and killing 10s of thousands of innocent civilians as acts of terror?
