A better question to ask at this point is:

What are you prepared to cut by $200 million dollars and redirect towards your pet project of social housing?

and here's a more fun one:

"What are you prepared to do to make social housing cost $350-$400k per door, instead of $1 million per door"

Let's summarize what actually happened here:

1. Preston & Co passed a tax on apartment buildings (exempting 99% of single family homes) which went into the general fund.

2. Preston & Co lied to voters about it being earmarked for social housing

3. We had a budget crisis in the wake of a pandemic

Ah, yes, a cult classic:

she posted this is 2020 on Orange Sky Day, and then went on to take basically every single position she could in opposition to denser housing, transit coverage, and bike infrastructure for the years after

And just so we're 100% clear, @scottwiener.bsky.social's marquee law, SB35, which was aggressively opposed by the entire "Progressive" establishment in San Francisco has led to the construction of thousands of 100% subsidized homes for folks that need them

Connie Chan doesn't actually support changing the laws that would make MORE projects like 383 6th Street a reality, the "100% affordable housing" she is so fond of pursuing at all costs

Chan doesn't support working people, she just likes to use them as props

My friend @wafoli.bsky.social as always pointing out the important bits, about how this proposal, if completed, would build MORE THAN HALF of the homes that this neighborhood has built in the past TWO DECADES:
bsky.app/profile/wafo...
The proposed development at the Safeway on La Playa would be more than 50% of what we have built in the Richmond in the past 2 decades and more than double what is in our pipeline right now. The Richmond has space for more homes! LFG www.sfchronicle.com/realestate/a...

Sign the petition here to show your support for this proposal and for building homes that the Richmond District badly needs to help make the neighborhood more affordable and bring down rents!

Support new homes and an expanded grocery store at 850 La Playa!
A home builder has recently put forward a proposal to bring 526 new rental homes and a new grocery store to 850 La Playa (currently the Outer Richmond Safeway). This is a massive opportunity to brin...

I’m so excited to see plans in the works to redevelop the Safeway I live across from to add over 500+ homes, an even larger Safeway store, and underground parking.

This will be a boon for the Richmond district and a massive step forward for our city!

It’s time to @growtherichmond.bsky.social 💪🏽
