Ew! It's like @cbcnews overcompensates on the right because it's accused of being too liberal.

It did for us!

I'll bet it's fear-based decision-making.

But we were directly across from Connaught and the old parking lot's dust and vehicles dropping off/picking up kids and the garbage was not fun. The worst was the night janitor's very loud vehicle!

Moving to 2100 block made a difference. (Our first house was on 2000 block Argyle)

PP has a pretty big ego. He must believe he can pull it off.

I came here to say that the CPC is a member party of the IDU, and Harper runs it, so what he wants, he gets. I don't understand why pp is still looking to survive the leadership review, unless Harper still wants him as leader to serve his agenda. But the party looks like it may not all go along 🤔

Oh no! We used to get some of that on 2000 block Argyle. Not over here though.

And it's been like this more or less for a long long time. I don't remember when but they started hiving the RPS contribution to the city's mill rate increase & reporting it separately like 10-ish years ago. #yqrcc

Council gets to approve or reject the funding request similar to library. If it gets rejected it goes back to police commission for tweaks or a "nuh uh, we want what we want." It always gets passed, though. Has only been rejected 1 time (2013). So it's kind of a pantomime of oversight. #yqrcc.

Fiasco? Fougere?
December 16, 2025 at 4:03 AM
That's not right! Is there outside pressure on Councillors to support RPS?

Really? I guess I'm sheltered! We get the people walking back to their vehicles.

Cathedral used to get spin-off from the old stadium but not from other events. No hotels or big bars - and I am totally fine with that.

So isn't a Minority government better then? Why does everyone get their shit in a knot about Minority governments? In my experience, Minority governments are better governments. They're more careful, attentive, honest. They want the Majority next time.
