Architect & father running for U.S House in Michigan's 1st District because I believe that your basic needs - healthcare, housing, living wages, and dignified retirement - should be treated as human rights. That isn't radical. 🌹 blomquistforcongress.com

Americans finally recognize the unique cruelty of our healthcare system and an overwhelming majority now support Medicare for All.

I believe there should be a Medicare for All candidate on every Congressional ballot in 2026. I am running to make that a reality for my neighbors in Northern Michigan.
NEW: A majority of voters (63%) support a Medicare for All system that would:

- Eliminate most private insurance plans
- Replace premiums with higher taxes
- Guarantee health coverage for everyone
- Eliminate most out-of-pocket costs like copays and deductibles
Your American tax dollars at work, executing Palestinians in the West Bank.

Send me to Congress, and not only will I remove the stain of complicity put on Northern Michiganders by Jack Bergman, but I'll support bills to sanction the government of Israel over human rights abuses.
🚨 Watch: Footage from Palestine National TV shows Israeli soldiers executing two detained Palestinians in cold blood during a raid in Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank today.

Their hands were raised, they posed no threat, and Israeli soldiers murdered them anyway.

Exciting to see Seattle piloting bold housing reform.

These efforts should be empowered nationally by a renewed focus on public housing , deploying HUD resources to eradicate homelessness and guarantee affordable housing.

It's time to treat the housing crisis like a crisis.
Seattle’s newly elected city attorney says she will reverse her predecessor’s policy of barring people suspected of certain crimes from entering parts of the city. “I will not criminally charge someone for being in an area they’re not supposed to be.”
Progressives Win in Seattle, Changing Directions on Public Safety
Voters ousted a mayor who oversaw a surge in encampment sweeps, and a Republican prosecutor who pursued punitive policies toward homeless people and drug users.

This #BlackFriday, please be mindful with your consumption.

Shop local first. If you must spend online, understand where your dollars are going. Don't send your money to companies that exploit workers, invest in genocide, apartheid, or human rights abuses.

Happy Thanksgiving to all 🦃🏈 but especially to the lineworkers taking time away from their families to restore power to their neighbors throughout the Upper Peninsula. Here’s wishing everyone a safe day full of food, football, warmth, and comradery!

More and more working Americans are finding themselves unhoused. It's time we treat the housing crisis as any legitimate crisis: deploying the resources of the federal government to eradicate homelessness and unrigging the game for working-class homebuyers.

This seems like a fine time to point out that we are currently enduring CAPITALISM.

Features include: billionaire capture of government, dwindling public services, stagnant wages, huge job cuts, medical & education debt, housing crisis, food insecurity, and vanishing retirement.
4 senior House Dems — Hakeem Jeffries, Katherine Clark, Pete Aguilar, & Ted Lieu — voted for a Republican-led resolution to “CONDEMN SOCIALISM,” a symbolic measure that passed the chamber on Wed. The vote comes as NYC mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani is set to meet with Pres. Donald Trump at the WH today.

Dear Liberals:

You don't have to participate in doing this.

Signed,

Members of Congress should not be allowed to own individual stocks or cryptocurrencies. It is legalized corruption and insider trading which is at odds with their responsibility to serve the American public.

AI may finally enable capitalism to fully cannibalize and destroy culture.
The world’s 3 biggest music companies have all licensed their works to an AI music startup.

The company, called Klay, is building a streaming service where users to remake songs using AI.

Universal Music, Sony Music, and Warner Music have all signed on.

It's time to provide universal child care to unburden working families in America.
Families with two children now spend an average of $2,252 per month on child care.

The United States has less than 5% of the world's population but over 20% of its incarcerated people.

Moving the U.S. to the global center on crime would require sweeping carceral reform, mass clemency, and prison abolition.

(Unfortunately, this is not what Rahm has in mind)

Happy Veterans Day to our brave men & women in uniform - including all my family & friends who are serving or have served!

We must honor their sacrifice with more than words.
We must guarantee them quality healthcare, housing, and a prosperous, dignified future at home.

Senate Democrats under Schumer's leadership just rendered the nation's longest shutdown absolutely f--king meaningless.

This all-but-guarantees huge increases in healthcare costs, uninsured Americans, chronic illness, and avoidable deaths. It's unsustainable.

Medicare for All or bust.

"I want smaller government"

Brother, your government has never been bigger. It grows every year.

They cut Medicaid and close your hospitals so they can give tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy and enrich war profiteers.

Meanwhile, you pay the same taxes, you just get less of it.

A funny (if not unexpected) part of the campaign so far:

Telling regular working-class people that they are being exploited by billionaires and deserve to have universal healthcare, living wages, and a dignified retirement...

...then having them ask whether I'm running Democrat or Republican.🧵

The Trump Administration is pulling out all the stops to prevent hungry families - including 1.4 million Michiganders and 16 million children - from receiving SNAP benefits.

Cruelty is the entire point.

26 billionaires spent over $22 million to beat Zohran Mamdani.

Why? Because regular people came together around an agenda that prioritized making life easier for more people. It beat big money.

That is how we win.

Amazon and Walmart are two of the biggest recipients of SNAP and Medicaid funds because they don't take care of their employees. Families working 40+ hours a week requiring gov subsistence. In Canada they go to food pantries to make ends meet.

Corporations are the real "welfare queens" of society
