Look, the world is *waves hands*. Have some pie for breakfast. To fortify yourself for the Eating To Come

(If you're not in the US feel free to have some pie too. Everyone should have pie if they want)

Loved this book. Just... Yeah it's a "nature is great, growing up in nature is the best" but from the point of view of a Black man and his family history. The author reads it, and is so peaceful, like sitting outside watching trees with him.

I get paid in dollars and squashes

And today a co-worker left dusty footprints on my jeans

The sky is fuzzzzy! These are the best #NorthernLights I've seen in Illinois. Yes these are mostly 1 second "exposures", but I could see so much with my bare eyes! It's soooooo cooooool!!!!

If my friend was this bad at answering basic questions I would gently poke them towards a good doctor.

Like I know ads but there is no way in hell this place is paying

A story in 3 parts. Well I only got 3 parts of the story... Pants about a quarter mile down the trail, then the shirt another quarter mile by the water, and the shoes a little farther in.

If they went into the water even a little bit, they had a Bad Day (tm)

Tried a new place to canoe. While it is technically a river, I've been in lakes with more current. Good birds, tho it's in 3 counties so less than ideal for ebird or listing...

I think we'll probably go back

(Ramp was busy when we got back tho)

Cleaning up my files lets me see things like this. They were both old men here in 2018.

Took an evening paddle up the river! We successfully dodged 3 river barges and 1 train (ok only 1 barge was tricky because the channel is really close to the side we wanted to be on and there was a motor boat on the other side)

When your casual goal was 225 species this year, but you unexpectedly went over the Rockies for a week

I only got 1 dedicated bird outing, too, the rest involved morning neighborhood walks or small children. Tho by my last day the 6yo was hushing me so she could hear birds 🎉
