Last season Maccabi Tel Aviv played Ajax in Amsterdam & their fans went on an anti-Arab rampage. Throwing rocks at homes displaying Palestinian flags, attacking Arab taxi drivers & chanting “Let the IDF win and f*ck the Arabs” and “Why is school out in Gaza? There are no children left there.”

84 - This was the second latest that Arsenal have trailed in a Premier League game and gone on to win (equalised in 84th), after their 3-1 win over Norwich in April 2013, when the equalising goal was converted by Mikel Arteta (85th minute). Spirited.

There cannot be many cases of a footballer trashing his reputation for no obvious personal gain, but Aston Villa goalkeeper Martinez (right) has managed it. The Villa fans have spent the last few years singing that Martinez is “the world’s number one”, but − putting it politely − he is currently the world’ s biggest wally in the eyes of many who have worshipped him. This has been the summer of player power in many respects with Alexander Isak and Yoane Wissa effectively going on strike. But at least they can argue that they got what they wanted. Martinez, however, faces having to return to Villa with his tail firmly between his legs. He wanted Manchester United on the final day of the transfer window, but, ultimately, they did not want him. United made one loan offer for Martinez earlier in the summer, before leaving him on the shelf like a tin of plums nearing their best-before date and instead moving for 23-year-old prospect Senne Lammens. There was talk of Galatasaray giving Martinez an alternative destination and the Turkish transfer window stays open until next Thursday. This reporter was part of the Villa Park crowd for the loss to Palace, sat behind two kids both wearing new goalkeeper kits with “Martinez” on the back. I feel truly heartbroken today. My Chinese takeaway, which has been serving this community for more than 10 years, was vandalized with hateful graffiti telling us to "go home." This is not just paint on the wall - it is blatant discrimination, and it hurts deeply The police are already following up on this incident. If anyone has seen anything or knows who did this, please contact us We work hard every day to serve our customers with love and dedication. I believe our community is stronger than hate, and 1 hope everyone will stand together against this kind of behaviour.
