Nope. President Pig never acknowledged their murder. When he was asked, why didn't we fly our flags at half mast for the Hortman's, as we did for Charlie Kirk, he didn't know who the reporter was talking about. He's the worst stain on America in our history.

A lot of "age verification" laws that supposedly democratic countries are trying to pass, are essentially "no anonymity/no privacy" laws (they intrinsically identify individuals, or make it much too easy to 'de-anonymize" individuals).
People have legitimate reasons to protect their anonymity.

While I don't use a VPN to access Bluesky, as a UK resident, a VPN is now a neccessity to access an ever increasing part of the internet that has begun geoblocking the UK. There are reasons to use a VPN that may be due to authoritarian governments in the country of origin, not malicious intent.

It will be pretty easy to circumvent or spoof.
Musk helpfully highlighted the scale of the trolling/spoofing because he implemented the feature so suddenly, no warning, so the trolls and ops got caught off-guard. But if the source-country feature becomes standard, they'll just go through a VPN.

Kind of irrelevant. Trump is using the shooting as an excuse to send in 500 more National Guard troops! Putting all those troops with no mission on the streets of D.C. to create a police state worked so well that Hegseth is sending in more troops. That can only trigger more violence.

Yeah, but walking from Farragut west is more annoying. I would get out at McPherson. But whatever, the whole trope about the proximity of the Capitol or White House is annoying. I am about one mile from the former and 1.5 from the latter, and they say shootings near my house r “near the White House”
