yup, religion has done tons of harm. it's also done quite a bit of good (though not NEARLY enough to counterbalance the negatives)

it's also an extension of a natural human need & i wouldn't deny it to anyone

personally i am an atheist as well. but i think i might be a happier person if i weren't

still, i support anyone's right to present themselves in accordance with their religion. islam isn't inherently oppressive to women, and neither is judaism. both have been quite thoroughly reclaimed

you should look into socialist anarchism! it's all about small-scale communities and human relationships, which tend to lead to accountability much more reliably than large-scale law systems of law
