I'm pretty sure this isn't Twitter, but let's hang out anyway. I've spent 20 years reporting on games and pop culture for Ars Technica, Penny Arcade, and Polygon. I've set the internet on fire a few times, in fact! Don't worry though, I'm nowhere near done
Where she is now? I can only guess

Like, if you've been friends with someone for over a decade, and you say you love each other and say hello and goodbye with long hugs? Green flag. What's wild is that men being physically affectionate is traditionally masculine. Then we erased it out of gay panic and it's done horrible damage

I'm a straight dude who was very lucky to find a friend group who hugs, cuddles, kisses, the whole thing. We've been physically affectionate since our teens. I didn't think it was a big deal until girlfriends started dropping by, and we were all surprised to learn how attractive women find it.

I'd love to be kept in the loop as well if you're comfortable with that! I have 20 years of media experience if you ever want to trade thoughts

Someone gets started, works hard, and sees where it goes. But I'm not trying to put the burden on other people, this is something I'd love to work on I just don't have the time or capital.

Couldn't agree more.

My budget is a mess right now so I refuse to even look to avoid a broken heart, but I appreciate the yearly sale. The collection is always top notch, I appreciate you doing this.

Yep. If you're a masculine person going online looking for gendered advice you're going to be sent directly to the worst people possible. And if you're looking, it's usually because you're in a vulnerable place. They're predators.

This is no way an endorsement of Peterson, who shouldn't be trusted on just about any topic for a variety of reasons, he's just so dominant that everyone else gets drowned out, and of course he's happy to blame certain groups for YOUR pain and struggles. You know the drill.

I spent a little under a month watching a lot of Jordan Peterson videos during this time, in fact, and I get the appeal because there is no other popular, well-known source of practical life advice for men. When you're drowning he looks like a life preserver. Finding other voices is TOUGH

Same. I listen to a group of pop culture podcasts with a revolving cast and honestly they're my movie buddies. I don't mind a little parasocial relationship if it helps me rest.

I fall asleep with a podcast on, I drive with one on, and I usually have one on at home. It helps keep the bad thinking away

(This would have been when it was called Electronic Gaming Monthly, of course.)
