"Things happen" sometimes, like when you walk into an embassy to apply for your marriage license while your bride-to-be waits outside, but then you get bonesawed to pieces for having exercised freedom of speech as an US-based journalist and have to be carried out in a series of suitcases.
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

Elon Musk was mentioned numerous times in the newly released Epstein files, including Epstein’s daily agendas, phone message logs, and travel itineraries.

Is it that hard to learn to not listen to people who lie?
Scott Jennings: "There's not a shred of evidence that Donald Trump had anything to do with the Epstein Files. That's the hoax."
Abby Phillip: "He is named in these documents, and that is real. If he has nothing to hide, he should be clamoring for their release."

This entire four year fiasco is about putting him in front of the famous, beautiful people.
Food, medicine, housing, or care for the vulnerable have no meaning. Only him in a gilded box with a captive, uncomfortable audience obligated to hear his disturbed rambling.
The guests at President Trump’s dinner for Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia included prominent figures in sports and business, such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Elon Musk. Read more: nyti.ms/49ZFWby

Putin is desperately trying to make something of his civilian bombing campaign, but even in his cruellest efforts, he cannot muster the mass and sustainability to do the necessary damage. Yes, these strikes hurt, but they betray his base strategic weakness, and will outpace the industrial rot.

The “piggy” comment is really disturbing.

Yes it is bullying and just mean and disrespectful.

But it’s probably also indicative of a continuing loss of inhibitory control. And that’s a sign of cognitive decline.
I don't know why the "Piggy" thing is bothering me so much. It's one more unforgivable thing in a list of 20,000 unforgivable things, but I've been mad about it for like 12 straight hours.

Careful about releasing files because of false accusations against "innocent" billionaires as federal law enforcement arrests citizens, residents, and aliens who have committed no crime.

NEW: In light of widespread allegations of civil rights violations arising from Trump's immigration crackdown, Democrats are renewing efforts to pass legislation to hold federal agents individually accountable:

Lawmakers are launching a new effort to close a legal loophole that means federal officials, including law enforcement agents, cannot be sued for constitutional violations.

@eggerdc.bsky.social breaks down a stunning moment: Trump sitting beside Saudi Crown Prince MBS—the man U.S. intel believes ordered Jamal Khashoggi’s murder—and getting angrier at an American reporter asking a legitimate question than at the autocrat who used a bone saw on a journalist.

Trump frequently demonstrates his disdain for journalists.

He expresses his admiration for authoritarians almost as often.

Today showed how intertwined those two instincts really are.

Senate Republicans were so eager to dispense with the Epstein measure that they agreed with Schumer to declare it passed by unanimous consent--even though it has not formally been sent over by the House yet. It may land on Trump's desk tonight.

Last Thanksgiving, two Dallas Police officers knocked on my door, citing a tip from the FBI national threat operations center that I was beating my girlfriend. The incident report confirms this. Today, I obtained a file from the FBI via FOIA that states the FBI has no record of receiving such a tip.

I attended a talk by a scientist at a Chinese University and realized that all the background climate data that she used came from the US (CO₂ Keeling Curve, global temperature time series, etc.). Although China funds a lot of research, the destruction of US science will affect science globally.
