This photo is from late August, when I arrived tyres burning, early morning, straight off of the A1M, en route to a Dig near Ripon.
They are truly an incredible sight and so beautifully incongruous amongst the ephemera of the modern day.

The evening light in Piet Mondrian’s 'The Tree,' (c1908) flattens the forms, and the muted tones reveal the influence of his evolving artistic philosophy. In time, he would move beyond nature reducing his art to a rectilinear grid of black on white accented with primary colours.

A few days ago I had two separate opinions given to me about this one which is waiting for some colour.
1) “Ooh it looks like finely woven thread”
2) “It looks all scratchy like it’s from some horror film but in a nice way”
I can live with both of those!
