Not to be a downer, but a great finale does not necessarily make a good series!

Regrettably, this is not written by the singer behind 2 Times. A missed opportunity.

Harry Styles said ‘excuse me’ whilst out jogging once.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

We love a late contender for Film of the Year! Whilst I appreciated the wild swings of Worst Person in the World, Sentimental Value may well be Joachim Trier’s best, and most devastating film yet.

Ghostface’s real power was being able to recreate Maureen Prescott’s voice postmortem for his voice change device in Scream 3.

I fear it would just be endless ‘what if’ recasting scenarios. Show me the Reese Witherspoon Gone Girl! The Meryl Streep/Goldie Hawn Thelma & Louise! The Will Smith Matrix!
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

As a community, we need to better distinguish between ‘is good in this piece of bad product’ and ‘deserves to be awarded the best of the entire year.’

Was honestly not prepared for what a surprisingly electric finale The Morning Show had this year! If you're interested in a Reese Witherspoon's gulag montage, or Jennifer Aniston acting rings around an entirely zoned-out Marion Cotillard, then do I have the show for you!

Does The Guardian know what a cameo is?

What is the best movie not from this year that you’ve seen this year? Bonus points if you say why

Do you think anyone writing about TV for the Guardian has ever actually watched a TV show? The state of TV criticism generally in the UK - where it often feels like the critic has barely skimmed the show - is so strange to me.

Imagine finally being big enough to bag a Saint Laurent dress and they hand you a trash bag.

I for one am excited for Charlie Puth's Ray of Light.

Happy ‘gay men falling over themselves to let you know how much they hate Taylor Swift’ Day to all who celebrate!

Does anyone else lie awake at night wondering, in the world of The Morning Show, who won Best Actress at the Oscars in 2005 and 2007?

ANOTHER ONE
Why is Holly Willoughby advertising MRI scans too??
September 22, 2025 at 12:55 PM
Nothing to see here, just double Oscar-winner / Annette Bening’ mortal enemy, Hilary Swank doing spon con for MRI machines.

The second-hand embarrassment I receive watching people’s Letterboxd Top 4 is honestly staggering.

Between Discovery Channel on the Hayley Williams album and Before You Break My Heart on the JADE album, maybe it's time to press the pause button on samples, eh?

Finally a great episode of Alien: Earth, and not for nothing the first that actually embraces the franchise’s horror origins rather than use it as window dressing for Noah Hawley’s more cerebral, bloodless dystopia.

Watching Pump Up The Volume for the first time (surprisingly great, sincere, anti-authoritarian) and Christian Slater really was the original slutty lil glasses wearer.

I think we all need to brace ourselves for the idea that 9 film roles or whatever for someone who has never acted before might have been an overreach.
