Learning new stuff sucks. No one does their first ever squat and thinks I am really enjoying this. The enjoyment comes after you have learned how to squat. That is when the satisfaction kicks in. So it is not learning new stuff that is enjoyable. It is having learned new stuff that is enjoyable.

I have nothing but fondness for our continental cousins across the Channel, but I think it is time we seriously consider remaking Christmas in a firmly English fashion. Frankly the least fun bits seem to drift in from Europe, mostly Germany, and I think it is time we reclaim what is ours.
