I’ll try to arrange a narrator for your episode, and once that’s in place, we’d be glad to cover it. I hope that’s okay.

I appreciate you raising that. Promoting diverse voices in science matters to us. I also prefer not to use my own voice in the podcast.

We can try! Having your voice on this one could add a meaningful perspective. Would you be open to recording it following a script I send?

Is the sound included in the file? I’m not able to hear it on my end.

Shift from “train on data” to “simulate biology, then test reality” 👍🏻👍🏻

I have another question. What’s your view on AlphaGenome? I tested it on a deep intronic variant and found it insightful — seeing multiple tracks across a broad genomic context helped interpret possible splicing and expression effects. Have you tried it?

I have a sincere question. Would you be open to us featuring one of your papers in a future episode? We’d also love to sample the MinION nanopore DNA sound from your TED talk in a music track. It would be a genuine celebration of this discussion, not a provocation.

Those are thought-provoking highlights that really make us reflect. Thanks for sharing the preprint and the discussion.

Talking about AI with AI.

We’ve published the episode based on the paper you shared and found it thought-provoking, offering a different perspective on our work. In science, differing views are valuable. I appreciate you sharing yours and the discussion. Wishing you all the best. basebybase.com?episode=279-...

I understand your concerns.

We see AI as a communication tool, not a source of scientific truth. Our content comes from peer-reviewed papers that we cite and check against the originals. You’re welcome to visit basebybase.com and review author testimonials on the scientific validity of our work.

We recognize this is a broader debate about AI training. We don’t control how models are trained. We use tools under their public terms and ensure transparent attribution for research. Our goal is science communication and widening access to peer-reviewed knowledge.

We use CC BY open-access research, credit authors, and link sources and licenses. We take ethics seriously. The podcast is free, open to anyone, and produced daily by a volunteer team. Our goal is simply to make peer-reviewed science more accessible and direct listeners to the original work.

I appreciate the candid critique. We use AI as a tool, not a substitute for rigor. Our goal is to translate peer-reviewed science clearly. If it’s not your style, I understand. Follow along and share your thoughts on tomorrow’s episode—that would be fantastic. Great research from great authors

@gringene.org Thanks for the feedback. Yes—the images and podcast use generative algorithms; that’s part of the concept. The science is grounded in peer-reviewed work. What music style do you prefer: anthem rock, ambient cinematic, jazz fusion, electronic synthwave, acoustic folk?

@gringene.org Thanks for the feedback! The cover is an artistic (yes, stylized) illustration to grab attention—we’ll do better next time. Please listen to the episode and enjoy the song at the end; the core is in the audio. Feel free to send a CC BY 4.0 paper and we’ll consider covering it!
